We

What kind of feedback do we receive from our audience? Our viewers appreciate our style, our skill, and our stage presence. Above all, however, they reflect back to us just how deeply moved they are by the connection between us. This, in all likelihood, is the secret to our success: for aerial and ground acrobatics of the highest caliber can only become something greater than the sum of their parts if the duo partners trust one another implicitly and share a profound bond. This spark ignites—and it is this that remains in the heart.

Talent and a deep passion for acrobatics have always bound us together. Everything else was allowed to grow over time. We have known each other since we were little girls, when we developed our first joint acts at a circus project in Hamburg. As teenagers, we dreamed of attending the State School of Circus Arts in Berlin—and we passed the entrance exams. We trained hard, but we also learned to navigate our differences, to grant each other space, to practice tolerance, never to bring bad vibes onto the stage, and to enjoy this extraordinary journey together. By the time we graduated, the foundation was firmly in place. We developed our own unique artistic signature as we traveled the world—performing in variety theaters, winning awards at festivals, appearing at galas and on cruise ships, meeting countless wonderful colleagues, directors, and producers, and constantly honing our craft.
We got to know the world, broadened our horizons, and regard this entire experience as a gift—both individually, and, above all, together.

During the pandemic, space opened up for us to obtain certifications as Movement Coaches, as Yoga and Pilates instructors, and as fitness trainers. We value these new building blocks in our portfolio, as well as the opportunity to share our joy of movement with others through our “The Joy to Move” programs.

With every experience, we have grown—so much so that today, we enjoy working together even more than we did at the start of our careers. Above all, we are proud to have developed something truly unique: the art of movement *à la monalaura*.

We look forward to encounters all over the world.

Mona & Laura

”A symbiosis of two professionals who have never ceased to explore spaces with their bodies—with curiosity, and endowing them with magic—graceful, on the very edge of the impossible.“

Veruschka Bohn, 2023

”Glitter costumes are no longer in vogue:
The two Hamburg natives, Mona and Laura, represent a completely new aesthetic form of acrobatics.“

Frankfurter Rundschau, Februar 2017

”Monalauras’s aerial straps act is a dream of flight. Upside down, above and beside one another—and tightly entwined—they spin through the air with elegance, apparent ease, and intense physical tension. It is a poetic performance exploring gentleness and strength, proximity and distance, resistance and harmony.“

Pforzheimer Zeitung, 2022

”What an incredible, magnificent, artistically stunning, elegant, and beautiful show you guys just delivered. THANK YOU for that. I take my hat off to you—it was truly mind-blowing. You should put a picture of your acts right next to the definition of “blind trust.” Seriously. Keep up the good work!“

Nadja, Spectator at Pforzheim 2023

“We saw the duo monalaura at the European Youth Circus in Wiesbaden. We were impressed by the elegance and intimacy of their act. The routine is truly meticulously choreographed and performed at a very high level.”

EYC Festival Wiesbaden, A voice from the audience

”A beautiful healthy friendship between two unique powerful women supporting each other.“

Sarah Linette, 2023
